This is my canvas project. For this project we had to choose a landscape, then paint it as realistic as we can. My landscape was a sunset. This project was difficult to me because I never painted on a canvas before, or painted a sunset. But I did learn how to draw on a canvas, and how to mix colors to get other colors.
This is my clay tile project. For this project we had to make an animal or a landscape out of clay, and then paint it as realistic as we could. I made a black widow on a log to symbolize the insects in the woods. I liked this project because I like to use clay and I also like to paint. I learned how to mold things better with clay, and how to paint things better with clay. This is my perspective project. For this project I chose the two point perspective. My three questions to answer about this project is "how did you use your unique ideas in your work?" I found pictures of the monopoly, Legos, and board, and then used my creativity to mix them up into a city. The second question is "did you use a source for inspiration, then combine it with your own ideas to make it original?" Yes, I found pictures online, and used all of them to make the city. The third and final question is "did you learn new techniques or processes as part of the work for the project?" Yes, I learned how to draw anything in perspective basically. Learning this, I will do better with creating more realistic set when using perspective. This is my print project. We had to chose an animal, draw it, then trace and cut it on manolium, hen print it on paper. I chose red ink on white paper for this project. The three questions I chose are "how did you use your own unique ideas in your work," the second question is "did you use a source for inspiration, then combine it with your own ideas to make it original," the third and final question is "did you gain skill with familiar materials." The first answer is I made sure that I didn't copy from my references, and used my knowledge of drawing and elephants to make sure it looked good. The second answer is yes, I used pictures of safaries and elephants to combine them into my final. The final answer is yes, I gained skill with cutting manolium with the certain cutters, and I gained skill with the printer. This is my black and white project. For the project I have to chose three questions to answer about my project. The first question I chose was "How did you use your own unique ideas in your work?" The answer to this is my having many pictures to reflect off of. This helps becuse you can take things from different picture sandpit them all into one. The second question is "did you learn new techniques or processes as part of the work for this project?" My answer is yes, I learned a new way to cut with the exacto knife, and I've got better at tracing with the tracing paper. My third and final question is "did you try something you weren't sure about as part of this project?" My answer is with the stars. I added them to add some detail, but I didn't think that they would have looked good. But I was wrong. I had a lot of fun with this project and I hope to do something like this in the future. This is my skeleton drawing. What we did to get our final product is find a cartoon character, trace it, then make the skeleton and color the cartoon character. I did Bart Simpson as my character. The reason why I chose him was because I thought he would be a cool character to make a skeleton out of, since his head isn't the normal shape of a person. I thought this project was fun because it didn't take that long to make, and it also was our choice for the character. This is my value chart. The value chart shows what type of darkness you should use when your shading. This helped me out because it lets me know how dark or how light I should shade something. It also helps me learn that the darker and neater the shading is, the picture will look better as well. This is a picture of my modified contour drawing. A modified contour drawing is when you draw somthing without lifting your pen, and you can look at the drawing every now and then while drawing it. This is easier than the blind contour drawing but it still helps you focus on the details in the thing you are drawing. This is my blind contour drawing. The goal of this drawing was to draw your hand without looking at the paper, and not lifting your pen off the paper as well. This helps you learn how to draw out the little details in things. This also helps you get better at drawing. The reason is because of you can draw somthing without looking at the paper and it looks somewhat like the thing you are drawing, you will most likely be good at drawing things looking at the paper. In this project I learned how to use oil pastels to create 3D shapes. I also learned how to overlap two colors to make the shading on the object look better. My experience with the oil pastels was really good. I like how bright it makes the picture look and if you do it correctly, make the object pop out even more than on pencil. I created value by having a shadow effect with the black oil pastel. Also using darker colors where the light is not shining on. Overlapping was important because it helped the shading look a lot better than having the colors stop and change. Yes, without showing a clear light source you wouldn't know where the light would come from and know where to shade. Value is important to show the shadow of the object and to show where the light it being directed at. Also it makes a 2D object turn into a 3D. |
